Discovery and Vision

The Light Oak Edit started with great bones—vaulted ceilings, bold beams, and natural character—but those strengths were hidden behind mismatched finishes and a choppy layout. To bring out the home’s potential, we focused first on light and flow. A new glass‑panel front door and upgraded high‑clarity windows immediately brightened the entire space. Luxury vinyl plank flooring replaced the dated carpet on every level, giving the home a clean, modern foundation.

One major transformation came from removing a key load‑bearing wall, finally connecting the kitchen and living areas into the open layout the home deserved. Outside, we cleared overgrown landscaping to reveal the home’s true curb appeal.

This planning phase shifted the property from cluttered and closed‑off to intentional and elevated—setting the stage for a design defined by cohesive materials, openness, and warmth.

Curation & Planning

With the vision set, we moved into shaping the details that would define The Light Oak Edit. The home already had Level 5 museum‑grade texture, but in the core spaces — the den, office, and kitchen — we removed old paneling and picture‑frame molding. This exposed raw sheetrock that had to be floated and sanded repeatedly to match the Level 5 finish. It’s a process that takes far longer than anyone expects, and the dust becomes its own character in the story. We designed new closets throughout, adding long and short hanging, shelves, and storage that made sense for modern living. We installed custom cabinetry in a distinctive palette that brought warmth and sophistication to every room. Every door and piece of trim was replaced with solid‑core shaker profiles, tying the entire home together with clean, architectural lines. Paint — both interior and exterior — was chosen to suit the property, the light, and the palette. Lighting was selected to reinforce the cohesive feel we were building. This phase was about intention: every material, every finish, every detail working together to elevate the home.

Transformation

This is where The Light Oak Edit truly transformed. The kitchen became a complete redesign. We removed the load‑bearing wall to open the space and added an extra‑large island with waterfall countertops as the new centerpiece. The range and sink swapped sides of the room, and a window was bricked up to create a more functional layout. The result is a kitchen that feels intentional, balanced, and perfectly scaled to the home. The primary bathroom and closet saw the most dramatic change. We lowered the floor six inches to match the rest of the house, removed unnecessary doors, and reworked the entire layout. A new large window now brings in natural light and views of the pool, creating a true spa experience. The closet was reimagined with long and short hanging, shelves, and thoughtful storage that finally matched the scale of the suite. Throughout the home, the new flooring, cabinetry, lighting, and architectural details worked together to bring clarity and warmth to every space. This phase was the heavy lifting — structure, craftsmanship, and design working together to bring the vision to life.

The Reveal

When the work was complete, The Light Oak Edit felt renewed. The new windows and signature front door flood the home with light. The continuous flooring brings calm and clarity. The kitchen is now a true centerpiece — warm, functional, and beautifully scaled. The primary suite feels like a retreat, with a spa‑level bathroom and a closet designed for real living. The exterior is clean and open, letting the architecture shine.Elevated, warm, and thoughtfully reimagined — The Light Oak Edit now lives the way it always should have.
